About Me

My photo
I was motivated to start a blog by reading all the wonderful talented individual's who have blogs out there. So, I want to make this blog about everyone who reads it. My family and God always comes first in my life. I want to share my experiences and in turn, hope to get feedback and ideas from you. I love unique things, I adore anything that sparkles (not over the top though) I love decorating, cooking, gardening, photography and shopping. My number one passion is photography! To me it becomes more than a picture, it can become a piece of art, or a beautiful memory. Decorating, though I am not a professional, and don't claim to be, has been a part of my life since I was very young, and just love searching and shopping for new ideas and incorporate the old, such as Mid-Century Modern and Hollywood Regency with contemporary. Living close to the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, and being of Hispanic heritage, I love cooking Mexican food, and love to share my authentic recipes. Though I live in Florida, my heart is in the desert southwest, and hope that my family and I will return there very soon…keep your fingers crossed that my prayers are answered SOON!!!

Memorial Day....

Memorial Day a special day to remember, though it never should be the only day...

I think this picture says it all.  I am so proud that my husband served in the military, and proud that I work for the government who provides care for our veterans who so honestly deserve it.  Let us never forget all those that have served our country, and those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our wonderful country.  This is a day for family and friends to get together for our out-door BBQ's, and our trips to the beach, the mountains or the deserts, but most of all it is to honor ALL THOSE THAT KEEP US SAFE AND FREE.  God Bless each and everyone of them.

  1. I love what you wrote! Yes, it is a special day. My father served in the Air Force, and went to Vietnam. My father in law was Navy, one brother in law was Army, and currently my brother in law in Oahu is a P3 Navy pilot. We are SO PROUD of all of them, and are thankful everyday for all of our military, past and present.

It's definitely a fun day to spend outdoors, to usher in the summer, but I also hope everyone takes a moment to remember what today is all about.

    Happy Memorial Day!

  3. Beautifully stated, especially the very first line. We should thank our military everyday in some way, even if it's just to keep them close in our thoughts.

I'm with you, spending time with loved ones, enjoying the freedoms we have is the best way to honor those who so selflessly served our country.

  4. Hi Joni, thanks for your sweet words about the pool incident. It was bad, and I just didn't have the heart to write exactly what happened. I have been a total mess since it happened. Thank you for your encouragement!

    have a lovely weekend!

  5. Hi Joni
Love your thoughts in this post...Thank you to both you and your husband for doing your part in keeping America free...and beautiful.

I've been neglecting the blogs for awhile...I'm in a "painting mode" and have several commissions to complete. But I had to drop by to thank you for your kind words. Maybe I'll draw your name for a crabby. But...I also want you to know that I will do a commissioned piece for you...or your daughter. And to tell you to watch for our fall Art at Home show...tentatively scheduled for Oct 22. Not only do I have work available for viewing and for purchase, but we usually have 3-4 artists sharing their specialties...maybe more this time around. We have a lot of fun...and lots of our local bloggers stop it. (That's ALWAYS fun!)
Hugs...and hope to meet you one day soon...
    Jane
